Dear European Humanitarian University Students,
On behalf of Young Leaders Forum let me kindly invite you to take part at the International Young Leaders Academy: Strengthening Democracy in Eastern Europe Societies to be held on 5-8 October 2012 in Vilnius (venue Embassy Hotel Balatonas, Latvių st. 38, LT-08113 Vilnius, Lithuania)
Over the course of two days (6-7), you will take part in special series of thematic panels and working groups focused on:
- Developing leadership skills - the art of oratory, debates, negotiations and cognitive competences of the active civic, etc.;
- Analyzing different existing practices and country cases - democracy building experiences, youth initiatives in different countries, existing youth policies and practices in order to foster youth civic participation, different methods and techniques;
- Discussing and generating the ideas how to enhance youth participation in creating the system of democratic values in the societies of East Europe countries; and how to gain political weight in lobbing and influencing democratization processes in global political arena;
This event will also be a unique opportunity to foster youth engagement in the Community of Democracies (CoD) and build ties among a leading group of youth civic in the following Eastern European countries. During our academy you will also participate in the discussions about the development of the CoD youth dimension, help articulate a concrete steps for the future youth engagement in the CoD and participation/role in the upcoming ministerial meeting of the CoD in Ulan Bator (Mongolia) in 2013.
Please note that travel and accommodation expenses will be covered to the limited number of participants from the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Mongolia, Taiwan, and Ukraine. However, if you are from the other country that was mentioned before and you have financial possibilities to join us, we would be glad to welcome you here in Vilnius.
