Короткая аннотация (до 500 печатных знаков)

The course aims to introduce to students major principles of creative writing. It is  built upon postmodern tradition of writing which questions the rigidity of genres and reveals the fluidity of texts written in different traditions and professional spheres. The course pays a particular attention to the importance of writer’s personal experience for her\his writing and tends to demonstrate that even such ‘strict’ forms of writing as academic texts, for example, are enriched by author’s reflexivity and inclusion of the personal experience. The course also poses a question of how and to which extent our social/political positioning influences our writing. A significant part of the course is focused on students’ writing. Students will have to read and write a lot in order to grasp the major principles of creative writing and to improve their skills.

–       to expand students’ research, analysis, writing, and oral presentation skills

–       to introduce to students major principles of English and Belarusian-language creative writing;

–       to discuss various genres of texts and to show interconnection between those genres;

–       to teach students to criticize each other following the ethical principles.

3. Poetry. Alternative poetry. Haiku. Vers rhopaliques.

4. Short story. Fairy tale.

5. Creative essay.

7. Nomadic writing (report, travel writing).

8. Nomadic writing (guide)

9. Manifesto. Writing text in support of a particular case.

 

Распределение нагрузки студентов

48 ч. – контактные часы (лекции, семинары, онлайн-занятия и др.)

112 ч. – самостоятельная работа.

 

Формы и методы оценивания учебных достижений студентов

Сказка, манифест, портфолио, экзамен.

 

Структура накопительной оценки

The final grade consists of the following components:

–       Participation in seminars – 15 %;

–       Portfolio – 15 %;

–       Writing and presentation of final text (tale, manifest) – 50 %;

–       Exam – 20 %.
