The course complements the knowledge of students in the area of international economic law. In the time of globalization and intensive economic interchanges between countries, the role of foreign direct investments plays a crucial role in the development of the host county where investors make investments. Protection of investors and investment as well as margin of regulatory powers of a state is the central issues in International Investment Law. In the course, it will be proposed to think over the relationship between International Investment law and International Law and Commercial Law. Students will be studying the definition of investor and investor, as well as standards of protection. Last topics of the course will cover dispute resolution between investors and host states and special relationships between human rights law and international investment law.
Предпосылки прохождения предмета
In order to successfully complete the course it is expected that students possess the knowledge in International law, Human Rights Law, Constitutional Law, Comparative Administrative Law, and International Private Law.

The aim of the course is to provide key knowledge in the functioning of investment law and regulation.
