Course provides students with essential knowledge of leading principles, theories and practices of art management. Course is orientated to expand students’
theoretical knowledge and practical skills to evaluate effectiveness of creative ideas, art market tendencies and apply business administration technics to the world of art. Universal knowledge will provide capacity to take profession solutions, to start creative initiatives, to implement creative idea (projects) and the critical ability to evaluate decisions making. Ability to work independently or in a team, to plan activities, to differentiate priorities, follow deadlines, anticipate changes and adapt to them. Practical skills will help to understand and make forecasts how the artistic creativity can be transform into cultural products or services.

Students must complete the requirements for the Bachelor's degree;
students must complete the requirements for the Master's degree 1 semester subjects;
to have personal focus on culture policy context, motivation to realize the management skills

Цель предмета

To prepare students that will be able to summarize information about project management in field of art; to analyse art market context and possibilities, to use administration technics and apply theoretical knowledge into practice; to be able to implement and manage competitive artistic ideas, to identify personal identity; to have capacity to use public communications skills; to predict challenges and make tactical solutions.

Knowledge and Its Application:

Get acquainted with the leading principles, theories, practices of art management, legal artistic activity framework.  Ability to identify, systematize and contextualize information about project management, public communication and art market. Ability summarise the acquired knowledge, apply them in activities. Ability to work independently or in a team, manage one’s own workload or team building, to plan activieties, to differentiate priorities, follow deadlines, anticipate changes and adapt to them.

Ability to present and express one’s own position in oral and written form using professional vocabulary.

Структура накопительной оценки

A ten-point criterion scale and a cumulative scoring scheme are applied Cumulative assessment. Additional grade is accumulated during lectures on the basis of student active involvement in argumentative discussion and problem solving task, ability to create and motivate the idea, formulate problems, associate them with the study subject. .  

Case studies - a comprehensive theme study and formulated conclusions (overall group or individual assessment) - 20%. Individual (final exam, individual assessment) project presentation – reflection on the theme, formulated problem, designed strategy and activities - 40%. Oral and visual presentation - properly selected representation strategy - 20%. Additional grade is accumulated during lectures - (20%).
