This course is an introduction to informational and infrastructural aspects of urbanism under condition of ubiquitous digitalization. It presents and develops basic concepts, arguments and explanations of central tendencies and phenomena of digitized urban life in early 21st century. It does so in confrontation with classical approaches to social and infrastructural features of 19th and 20th centuries urbanism. The course places particular emphasis on redefinition of phenomena of politicization, of division of labor, and of bureaucracy in process of digitalization of urban environment. The course includes supervised fieldwork and facilitation of students’ individual research projects.
