On 28 and 29 October 2021, the Open Society Research Platform will host its online conference with the title 'Forget Open Society? Critical Conversations on a Contested Concept'. Keynote lectures will be delivered by Professor Thaddeus Metz (University of Pretoria) on Open Society and African philosophy (especially ubuntu) and Professor Iveta Silova (Arizona State University) on Open Society and education. There will also be a 'keynote discussion' on Open Society and Covid-19.

Please find attached our Call for Abstracts. The aim of this conference is to spark critical conversations on the concept of Open Society within and beyond OSUN. We, therefore, welcome submissions from diverse disciplines and theoretical backgrounds and we are interested in empirical, theoretical, and normative approaches. Since the scholarship on Open Society is dominated by male scholars, we would be particularly delighted to receive abstracts from female scholars.
